Urgent Need!

Pic of Zuko with his extreme head tilt.

We are currently nursing Zuko and Max back to health.

Zuko

Zuko suffers from a middle ear infection, which has caused a severe head tilt.
Daily he receives several oral medications twice a day as well as sub-q fluids and penicillin injections once a day. Head tilt bunnies have trouble or cant drink water at all. It is important to soak their veggies to maintain fluid intake; sub-q fluid injections is a supplement to help keep buns hydrated.
He’ll require at least two more vet visits, one which will include an x-ray and some lab work just to mention a few things. Not to mention the continued administration of medications.

Max

Max has been having health issues since he arrived here. We have been through a severe case of fur and ear mites as well as a very high count of Coccidia. He came through both of these issues fine, but has been having trouble gaining or maintaining weight. Adding Critical Care helps add some extra nutrients and hopefully weight to a bunny.

Just today Max is having diarrhea which he hasn’t had since his case of coccidia. He was cleared of mites and coccidia a few months ago. This increases the amount of probiotics and foods he will receive. Medications are also being administrated to help relieve any pain, gas and hopefully restore his GI activity.

Bun Bun

Bun Bun has been having issues trying to get enough food with his very, very hungry mate. Charlie (his mate) is a chunkay boy and will not refuse any food at any time. Although he doesn’t keep Bun Bun away from the food, it takes Bun a little longer to consume. BunBun is a tripod who is missing one of his back legs. He also doesn’t inhale food the way Charlie does. So for the time being we are separating them during feeding time. They always have hay and water 24/7 in two different litter boxes and one large water bowl.

We almost depleted our stock of sterile syringes when we had the five kits whom we were given injection medications to.

Zuko and Max require sub-q fluids at this time, while Zuko also receives daily Penicillin injections.

Ways to donate

We have posted a fundraiser for Zuko’s vet bills and have an Amazon Wishlist for supplies needed during this time.

Any contribution, whether it’s five bucks or an item off our Wishlist is greatly appreciated.
As always you may also make direct money donations to our vet account.
